"Art is never finished, only abandoned"

This quote is attributed to Leonardo Da Vinci, one of the great visionaries of all time, and I couldn't agree more. How many people have started to create something and then left it, abandoned, never to finished.
I understand this so well. I have left a lot of pieces unfinished because I either wasn't in the mood or it didn't come out right.

And yet, I learned an important lesson: Art is not a journey towards perfection - it is not result-driven. Outcomes really don't matter that much, unless your motivation is solely money-oriented.
For me, art is the journey - it's the creation itself. It's the immensely satisfying process of creating colors and sketches, throwing them away or putting them on the wall.

That's the reason I started this site: To give people the opportunity to relax, learn about lines, forms and colors, and start their own creative journey. So dive in, explore and may you never be the same!

Vincent van Gogh, Painter

About Me

I was born and raised in the Netherlands, where I attended the prestigious Academy of Arts in Amsterdam and studied graphic design and fine arts. Since then, I have practiced my craft as a painter and graphic artist for many years.

After moving to the U.S., I started to explore the digital design world, but I never forgot my grounding in the skills of Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Van Dijck.

I learned art the old-fashioned way with techniques that risk getting lost in today’s AI-generated world. It’s so easy to get into your computer or phone and build images with AI apps. Sure, they look okay, but what’s missing is the creative journey – the relaxation, the stress-free zone where you can freely create whatever is on your mind.

I am providing that zone here, with our courses and books to teach you to become the artist you want to be. So join in, and enjoy every minute of it!
