When you start with watercolor, you will find that its charm comes from creating beautiful effects with simple methods. As you use your brush, you’ll see how water changes each stroke, making the process both relaxing and fascinating.
Watercolor encourages you to try new things and enjoy the way the paint moves across the paper.
When you begin to work with watercolor, you will find yourself entering a whole new world of vibrant colors, shimmering luminosity, and beautiful effects. Even though watercolor is considered “unforgiving,” i.e., once you put your brush on the paper, you can’t erase what you’ve done, it gives you endless freedom to experiment, blend colors and shapes, and let your imagination flow onto the paper.
Like all other art forms, watercolor painting has to be learned. It has specific techniques and methods to create different effects. Watercolor art often begins with sketching and outlining shapes, forms, and images you want to create. Therefore, I strongly recommend first doing my basic drawing course, Sketching Simplified: A Beginner’s Guide to Drawing Basics, to learn sketching forms and shapes. With these basic drawing skills under your belt, you won’t get stuck on creating realistic and stunning watercolor art, because your shapes aren’t right.
Here’s to a wonderful journey!
